Montorio Homes approached me about working with them on a spec home they wanted to turn into a show home. They had it staged with furniture they already owned and were hoping I could utilize as much of that as possible, but they also wanted the house to be decorated so that it showed its full potential. Since I was working with finishes and furniture that were already chosen, I kept the style of this house as it was: modern contemporary. Today I want to show you the primary bedroom suite makeover!
The rest of the house was primarily black and white. I wanted the primary bedroom to be cohesive with the entire home, yet feel warm and more like a retreat. So, we painted the room Evergreen Fog for an infusion of colour and warmth.

I replaced the headboard and end tables. I moved the old lamps to the other side of the room and used the old bedding for staging in the closets. The before felt very cold. The after is warm, cozy, and inviting.

Replacing the light fixture gives the room an elevated feel, and soft curtains showcase the window’s size while adding softness and texture. I brought the fiddle leaf plant in from another room, and the basket ties in perfectly with the new end tables.

I utilized the existing dresser. I styled it with the old nightstand lamps and added some new accessories to finish off the space.

I love this sneak peek into the primary bathroom! Even though the bathroom is black, white, and grey, you can see the green in the mirror.

I love the way the primary bedroom turned out. As I was finishing the last touches in the house, I kept walking by the bedroom to take a look at it.

The primary bathroom makeover was all about styling. I added some warm wood accents and found the perfect cabinet to go above the toilet.

The primary suite is such a nice size, and the layout is so thoughtful and functional. It was easy to let all of the great features of this suite shine!
