Child’s Bedroom

Date

The second child’s bedroom in the Montorio Showhome also needed some warmth and colour added to it. However, instead of painting the walls of this room, I used accessories to makeover this room instead! The room had great bones to begin with, and I had a beautiful bed to use as a jumping-off point.

I used the same bed and bedding, but restyled it for a cleaner look that had some contrast. Hanging navy blue curtains was a very big change that added so much texture, warmth, and colour to the room, with very little effort!

However, the real focal point in the room is the headboard wall. Adding ladder shelves that frame the headboard helped balance the headboard and art. The shelves also allowed me to add accessories in warmer tones and bring in some colour too.

Very simple styling brings the colours of the space to this wall without taking up a lot of visual or physical space.

What I love about this makeover is that I didn’t make any drastic changes. I didn’t paint or add wallpaper, and I kept the existing bed and even the bedding. It was just some simple styling changes and the addition of key pieces that turned this cold room into a bedroom that feels like home.
